Aug. 29th, 2010 08:40 pmRachel Grey-Summers never thought the memories locked in her subconscious would be needed. She thought she could just forget them, lock them away and never look at them again. War. Revolution. How to kill, how to plan attacks, how to inspire troops. She never thought she'd need any of it.
But then she never thought she'd find herself bagged, tagged and in a prison again. She never thought she'd find her powers stripped from her.
Her escape was sheer luck. Years of training allowing her to make the most of an opening that never should have happened. That was the day Rachel disappeared. The day Marvel Girl died.
Now the underground hears rumors. Rumors of a leader, a fighter, someone who managed to hide those that needed to be hidden, rescue those that needed to be rescuing. Someone who was hard, merciless, someone the government's soldiers and their police, started to fear. Those that join her are trained, equipped, and some of them sent to start cells of their own and those that stay with her know the next day, or the day after will likely find them killed or captured. But it doesn't change things.
What is, is.
Someday, the laws will be repealed. Someday the imPorts will live free again. Maybe that day, Rachel will come back.
Until then, there's only the Askani. Until then, she's at war.
